Things have been going great! We finally have air conditioning in one of our classrooms and we've successfully taught the children "head shoulders knees and toes." Home visits have happened every night, usually visiting at least 3 houses a night. It's been moving and of course, surprising. The kids are sometimes much better off than we expected because of the efforts of Coptic Orphans and their representatives. But, of course, there is still much that they need from us. We've had our fair share of Egyptian hospitality and aren't sure if we can take 2 more weeks of it.
The reps here have been an incredible support system. We may even adore them more than the children, especially Ustaaz Nazieh's santa-like persona. We've worked with a whole spectrum of children ranging from absolute angels to Marco, who requires no further description. After one full week, we've definitely formed personal relationships with all of them and can't wait for the next two weeks.
Peace out.
